Laila Gohar, born in Cairo, left for Florida at 19 to pursue university studies, marking the beginning of a journey into the unknown. Over two decades, she carved out a unique career blending food and visual storytelling, creating extraordinary works like brioche chairs and chocolate fountains. Gohar’s recent collaboration at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo celebrated Egypt’s culinary history, with towering sculptures symbolizing ancient bread-making processes. These pieces, made in collaboration with local artisans, were displayed alongside ancient artifacts, including the Mask of Tutankhamun. Gohar’s work continues to inspire wonder and dreams, rooted in cultural heritage.
