French Prosecutors Close Apple Congo Conflict Minerals Case Over Insufficient Evidence

French prosecutors have closed a case against Apple over allegations it used conflict minerals from Congo, citing insufficient evidence of money laundering or deceptive practices. The Democratic Republic of Congo accused Apple subsidiaries of sourcing minerals linked to violence and child labour in its supply chain. Although the case was dismissed, Congo’s legal team plans to appeal the decision, emphasizing the seriousness of the issue. Congo is a key supplier of minerals like tin, tantalum, and tungsten used in electronics.
