Juba Dismisses Claims of Palestinian Transfer Deal with Israel

South Sudan has firmly denied reports that it is in talks with Israel over forcibly relocating Palestinians from Gaza, dismissing the claims as “baseless.” The Associated Press, which broke the news, cited sources alleging discussions on an Israeli proposal to transfer Palestinians to the East African nation—a move human rights groups warn could constitute ethnic cleansing. While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has advocated “voluntary migration” from Gaza, South Sudan says no such deal exists. The controversy comes as Israel reportedly explores similar proposals with other African nations, including Sudan and Somalia. Analysts suggest that South Sudan, still recovering from civil war and facing financial strain, may be seeking diplomatic concessions from the US in exchange for cooperating with Israel.
