Tomi Adeyemi’s Fantasy Epic Inches Closer to Screen as Filming Wraps

Filming has officially wrapped on Children of Blood and Bone, the highly anticipated adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling fantasy novel. Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the shoot spanned 74 days across two countries and two islands, and featured a powerhouse cast that celebrates the African diaspora. Thuso Mbedu stars as Zélie, alongside Tosin Cole, Amandla Stenberg, Damson Idris, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. New cast additions include Ayra Starr, Richard Mofe-Damijo, and EGOT legend Viola Davis, with a tentative release set for early 2027. With its epic storyline and vibrant, star-studded lineup, the film promises to be a landmark moment for African fantasy on the global stage.
