Angola Celebrates 47th Annual Carnival with Colorful Parades and Music

The streets of Luanda came alive as Angolans celebrated the 47th edition of their annual carnival, marking the country’s cultural vibrancy. This year’s event coincided with Angola’s 50th anniversary of national independence. Over 38 carnival groups, including 15 from the children’s category, participated in the competitive parade, with the top five earning monetary prizes. Leaders like Benezito Jacinto of União da Bixila highlighted the extensive preparation and passion behind the performances. The event’s theme focused on preserving achievements and building a brighter future for Angola, making the carnival a testament to the nation’s cultural and historical journey.
