India-Africa Trade Hits Record $100B as Ties Deepen
Trade between India and Africa reached an all-time high of $100 billion in the 2024–25 fiscal year, doubling from $56 billion just five years ago. The announcement was made by India’s junior foreign minister, Kirti Vardhan Singh, at the annual India-Africa business conference in New Delhi. Singh also noted that the African Union was granted a permanent G20 membership during India’s presidency. He framed this as part of India’s commitment to securing the continent’s global standing. Looking ahead, India aims to expand collaboration with Africa across the healthcare, renewable energy, and technology-driven farming sectors, positioning the partnership as key to shaping a shared future.
