Africa’s Hospitality Sector Projected to Hit $33.54 Billion by 2029

Africa’s hospitality sector is booming, with projections placing its value at $33.54 billion by 2029, thanks to rising “bleisure” (a blend of business and leisure) travel, improved global connectivity, and demand for upscale stays. Hotels are at the forefront of this growth and, by themselves, are expected to hit $15 billion in market value. At the heart of this surge is the Hotel & Hospitality Expo Africa, taking place for the first time in Cape Town from June 11–12. The expo will host 150+ exhibitors, unveil the 2025 African Hospitality Confidence Index, and introduce HORECA Connect, targeting hotel, restaurant, and catering professionals. Co-located with the Africa Food Show, the event highlights the growing fusion between food and hospitality, offering valuable insight, networking, and innovation across the continent’s thriving tourism scene.
