Dangote Cement Expands West African Footprint with New Ivorian Plant

Dangote Cement is gearing up to commission a new 3 million tons per annum (Mta) grinding plant in Côte d’Ivoire by Q3 2025, reinforcing its dominance across Africa. CEO Arvind Pathak highlighted an 18.2% boost in export volumes from Nigeria, with clinker shipments to Ghana and Cameroon underscoring regional trade growth. Strategic investments, including 1,600 new CNG-powered trucks, are also trimming costs and supporting environmental goals. Financially, the company saw Group EBITDA soar 41.8%, while profit jumped 174.1%, driven by operational efficiency. With a total of 52Mta capacity continent-wide, Dangote Cement has helped shift Nigeria from a cement importer to exporter, with active operations across 10 African countries and a strong outlook for continued expansion.
