Four African Cities Named Among World’s Best Food Destinations for 2025

In a global celebration of culinary excellence, four African cities have been ranked among the 20 best food destinations in 2025 by Time Out. Cape Town claimed the top spot worldwide, praised for its exceptional dining experiences and rich food culture. Lagos followed, winning hearts for its affordability and diverse flavors, as 78% of locals describe the city’s food scene as “delicious.” Marrakech impressed as the third most affordable city for food and drinks, while locals highlighted its traditional and diverse cuisine. Cairo also made the list, earning a 90% approval rating for its varied culinary scene. Together, these cities showcase Africa’s vibrant gastronomy, blending bold flavors, affordability, and rich cultural heritage.
