Africa’s Billionaires See Major Wealth Gains in 2025

African billionaires have seen remarkable net worth increases in 2025, driven by economic shifts and global market trends. Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, has experienced the most growth. Consequently, he is now the 85th richest person globally, up from his previous ranking of 144th. South Africa’s Johann Rupert, the continent’s second-best performer, gained $3.32 billion year-to-date, bringing his net worth to $13.6 billion. Egypt’s Nassef Sawiris’ net worth grew by $1.8 billion while his brother, Naguib Sawiris, saw his wealth rise by $1.2 billion.
