For one, popular Nigerian artist Tems and her South African counterpart Tyla recently joined Spotify’s Billions Club, a few weeks after Tems picked up another Grammy Award at the event’s latest edition. Now, another popular Nigerian act, Rema, is dominating the airwaves with his latest single, “Baby (Is It A Crime),” leading Spotify’s charts. Released on February 7, 2025, and sampling Sade’s iconic “Is It A Crime,” the track has already racked up over 14 million streams in just three weeks. The record sets a vibrant tone for the year, as other top songs by OdumoduBlvck, Lawrence Oyor, Asake, Teni, Ayra Starr, and Burna Boy also make the top 10 list.
